Thankfully, Apple has built in a number of tools to keep your iPhone and Apple Watch from falling into nefarious hands. Find My iPhone offers geolocation services for all of Apple's devices as well as remote wiping capabilities. The service also sports Activation Lock for Apple's iPhone and Apple Watch models, which prevents potential thieves from wiping your phone and trying to resell it.

What is Activation Lock?





As mentioned above, Activation Lock is a part of Apple's Find My iPhone service. It locks the device in question to your Apple ID; if someone tries to restore that device without first disconnecting it from your Apple ID, they'll be unable to do anything with it — it becomes a dead brick, essentially.

Apple brought Activation Lock to the Apple Watch with watchOS 2; it should be automatically enabled when you first set up your Apple Watch.


Does my Apple Watch have Activation Lock enabled?

If you're running watchOS 2 or later on your Apple Watch, Activation Lock automatically enables when you set up your device; you can check it by going to the Apple Watch app on your iPhone or via iCloud.com.
How to check if Activation Lock is enabled on your iPhone
Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
Tap on the My Watch tab.

Tap on the icon for your Apple Watch.


Select the info button to the right of your Apple Watch.
Tap the Find My Apple Watch button to open the Find My iPhone app. 
If you can view your Apple Watch in the Find My iPhone app, Activation Lock is enabled.
How do I check if Activation Lock is enabled if I don't have my iPhone?

Even if you don't have your watch's iPhone handy, you can check its status via iCloud.com.
Go to icloud.com.
Log in with your Apple ID.


Click on the Find iPhone icon.


Select the All Devices dropdown from the top center of the screen.
Find your Apple Watch.

If your Apple Watch is available in this list, Activation Lock is enabled.


How do I turn on Activation Lock if I don't have it enabled?

If your Apple Watch isn't present in the Find my iPhone app or shows as offline, there are a couple of potential reasons to check.
You may not be currently logged in to iCloud on your watch
You're running an older version of watchOS
Your watch isn't syncing properly with your iPhone
How to add your Apple ID to your Apple Watch

If you're not seeing your Apple Watch synced with your iCloud account, you may need to re-pair it. This will reassociate your Watch with your iCloud account and update your software, but it does require a bit of work on your part.
Restart your Apple Watch and your iPhone.
If this doesn't work, it's time to unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone.
Restore your Apple Watch from its backup.

During the restore process, enter your iCloud account information to enable Activation Lock. You'll also be asked if you want to enable Find My Apple Watch.

Navigate to iCloud.com from your computer's web browser to disable Activation Lock.

Click on the X next to your Apple Watch to remove it.


Click Remove to confirm.

Fundstücke: Retro-Uhren unter 200 Euro (Henry London, Lippe, William L.)

Immer, wenn ich einen Artikel über 1.000 Euro habe, habe ich: Jetzt muss ich mal wieder ein paar Tipps geben. Und bitte schön, hier sind sie - in Form eines Fundstück-Freitag . Oder anders gesagt: Ich habe mal wieder ein wenig für Euch gestöbert und gesammelt.

Henry London - Chronographen unter 200 und Dreizeiger-Uhren 100 Euro

Wir beginnen mit Henry Henry , die ich hier in einem Schnellschuss vorgestellt habe. Die Uhren bekam man damals kurzfrohes sonders günstig - es gibt keine Zeit für einen Artikel. Es gab einen sehr netten Facebook-Beitrag dazu.

Ihr seht, Henry London setzt auf Vintage- / Retro-Design und das zu günstigen Preisen. Ich mache die Uhren auf jeden Fall. Und: Eine Bekannte von mir hat sich so eine Henry gekauft und scheint sehr zufrieden zu sein.
Wobei oben gezeigte Uhren haben ein Quarz- Werk. Auf Amazon kommt Ihr den Chronographen aktuell zum Preis von EUR 129,00 (Partnerlink) und die Dreizeiger-Uhr mit "Waffelzifferblatt" und Datumsfenster auf der "6" kostet aktuell 84,23 EUR (Partnerlink).

Natürlich gibt es noch viele weitere Zifferblätter-Varianten und Farben (amazon-Partnerlink). Ein wenig Stöbern muss man schon, denn mittleweile sind die klassischen Edelstahlmodelle ziemlich "fashion-oriented" Uhren mit (Rosé-) Goldgehäuse & Co. hinzugekommen. Vielleicht nicht jedermanns Sache. Aber: Das Stöbern bei Henry London (amazon-Partnerlink) kann sich für Retro- und Vintage-Fans lohnen - erst recht bei den Preisen.

In einer ähnlichen Kerbe schlagt die unerwartete Marke William L. (Amazonas-Partnerlink). Bei ihr gibt es Chronographen, die nun wirklich nicht nach dem Preis aussehen:

Natürlich muss man die Uhren mal live sehen und begutachten (siehe auch Instagram ), aber der erste Eindruck ist schon mal recht ordentlich. Die Preise der oben gezeigten Uhren liegen offiziell zwischen 149 und 189 Euro. Auch hier sprechen wir von Quarzuhren - aber immerhin mit Seiko-Werk . Und natürlich gibt es auf Amazon eine günstige Angebote (Partnerlink) - unter dem des offiziellen Preises. Ein Blick könnte sich lohnen.

Weiter geht's zum dritten
Lip - Französische Uhren unter 200 Euro

Die 1867 (!) Gegrünete Marke Lip hat mich hier vorgestellt. Heute könnte ich ein weiteres Modell vorweisen, das mir das erste Mal auf die Baselworld aufgefallen ist. Die Lippe Himalaya (Amazonas-Partnerlink).

Auch diese Uhr sieht nicht wirklich nach 200 Euro aus. Schönes Vintage-Design und von einem Hersteller, der nicht erst gesteppten Uhren produziert. Es handelt sich um eine Quarzuhr, war bei so einem Preis, der aktuell bei EUR 189,00 (Partnerlink) auf Amazon liegt, nicht wünschen sollte.
